If you come to Ensenada and ask around about a traditional place you should visit there is not doubt that people will recommend you the Hussong’s Cantina, one of the oldest landmarks of Ensenada that with its relaxed atmosphere has been witness of countless stories. Many can tell you “If you did not visit the Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada, you have not been in Baja yet”. When Ensenada was a very small town with only 5000 residents, it welcomed the German John Hussong, who was the founder of this famous bar in 1892.

Si vienes de visita a Ensenada y preguntas por algún lugar al que deberías de visitar o que es tradicional en la ciudad sin duda te recomendarán la Cantina Hussong’s, uno de los lugares emblemáticos de ésta ciudad que con su ambiente relajado ha sido testigo de infinidad de historias, algunas personas dicen “Quien no ha ido al Hussong’s no ha venido a Baja”.

In last posts we shared with you information about the Costero Boulevard and all you can find in this street, now it is the turn for the Adolfo Lopez Mateos street well known as 1st street. This famous street was recently remodeled and it is maybe the most traditional street in Ensenada. There you can find many attractions craft stores, typical regional outfits, Mexican candies, deli restaurants, fine jewelry, nightclubs and a large variety of souvenirs. This street has been scenery for events such as “El festival del hongo”. The first section of this street was thought with our tourists in mind that is why most of the restaurants have a terrace area. Since Ensenada has a beautiful weather through all the year, you can have a delicious meal while enjoying a colorful panorama, sometimes accompanied with Mariachi music.
