Sea kayaking is an activity that takes place in open waters of lakes, bays and oceans. Enjoyed by children and grownups as well, that can be practiced in groups or alone. Definitely it’s an activity that you can practice in the Baja California coasts in both the Cortez Sea or in the Pacific Ocean side.

El kayak de mar es una actividad que se realiza en aguas abiertas de lagos, bahías y océanos. Es disfrutado por niños y adultos además de que se puede practicar en grupo o solo. Sin duda es una actividad que puedes realizar en las costas de Baja California, ya sea en el Mar de Cortés o en el lado del Océano Pacifico.

Perfect weather and excitement of the participants we lived last weekend on the Western Outdoors New’s Ensenada Coral Saltwater Championship, returning after a 3 years absence from Ensenada and Hotel Coral & Marina. The two days tournament was under a 3 division format (Tuna, Yellowtail and Bass) letting the anglers choose the division(s) in which they wanted to compete.

On our last posts we talked about the wide variety of entertainment options offered between Ensenada and the rest of Baja California Norte. We posted about the famous wine route, the ecotourism at the Juarez and San Pedro Martir Sierras, the singular gastronomy in the state and about different events that were held in Ensenada, but now we are going to talk about a place that is worldwide known by a specific community and designated as a protected area by the Mexican government. It has special characteristics like its fauna and the power of the sea in its coasts; we are talking about the Todos Santos Island. Actually this name is given to two islands located 12 miles away from Ensenada port, and they are recognized by their powerful and big waves of 30 foot high or more.

Un clima perfecto y el entusiasmo de los participantes vivimos el pasado fin de semana en el Western Outdoors New’s Ensenada Coral Saltwater Championship, que después de 3 años de ausencia en la ciudad de Ensenada regresó teniendo como sede a Hotel Coral & Marina. Estrenando una nueva modalidad con tres divisiones (Atún, Jurel y Cabrilla) los competidores podían seleccionar la o las divisiones en  que desearan participar.

An unforgettable and romantic musical evening we lived last July 8th at Hotel Coral & Marina on the concert of the Mexican singer Cristian Castro. In this event Cristian promoted his last album “Viva el Principe” made in honor of José José, the called prince of the song.
